How do I upload image URLs?

To get an image URL using Firefox or Safari, right-click on the image you would like to use, and select either 'Copy Image Location' or 'Copy Image Address' from the right-click menu. Then paste the URL into the image URL field by right-clicking in the field and selecting 'Paste'. Using Internet Explorer, right-click on the image you would like to use, and select 'Properties' from the right-click menu. In the Properties window, highlight the URL and copy it by selecting right-click > 'Copy' or using Ctrl+C. Then paste the URL into the image URL field by right-clicking in the field and selecting 'Paste'. Note: image URLs must have an image file extension like .jpg, .gif or .png.

How do I create a map link?

Click the bit.ly icon on the popup card for the post you would to create a map link for. Then copy the bit.ly URL that is created and paste it wherever you would like to create a map link. If you prefer to copy a full URL (as opposed to a shortened URL) then click on the email icon and copy the URL location that is provided at the top of the page. Can I create a link to just the posts under my user/email account?

Yes, you can create a link to a map of just the posts associated with your user/email account. 1) When you have one of the popup cards pulled up for one of your posts just click on the "Posted By" link. BlockWild will then show all of the posts associated with that email account. 2) In the address bar you should see a URL that looks like "http://blockwild.com/index.php?showUserPosts=120" but with your user number. Just use that URL in the address bar to create a link.

What category should I post under?

The information gathered and presented are the same for all categories except EVENTS - which adds a date field (or time element) to your post. The other categories do not. BlockWild assigns a color coordinated pushpin to the different categories to help visually identify and navigate categories of local content on the map. Post as an EVENT any item that you want to assign a specific time period to (or repeating time periods: weekly, monthly, or a series of dates): like a garage sale, festival, street fair, weekly farmers market, film festival, monthly flea market, monthly artwalk, etc. You have the ability to specify the date (or dates) that your event occurs. At the expiration of the end date your EVENT will no longer be displayed on the BlockWild map. Post as a CLASSIFIED any item (or items) that you have for sale, such as: furniture, clothing, baby & kids items, bikes, tickets, musical instruments, etc. Posts in the CLASSIFIEDS category will expire after 60 days. Post as a REAL ESTATE AND RENTAL any residential property you have for rent or for sale, such as an apartment, a house, a vacation rental, etc. You can even post parking spaces for rent. Posts in the REAL ESTATE & RENTAL category will expire after 60 days. Post as a SOCIAL GROUP any group that gathers on a regular basis in your community and you would like community members to know about, such as: meetups, community organizations, social organizations, etc.. Posts in the SOCIAL GROUP category will expire after 2 years. Post as a SERVICE any service that you provide to your community. Posts in the SERVICE category will expire after 60 days.
